These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the RexyView application ("the App," "RexyView," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not download or use the App.
Plain English summary: RexyView is a free app that connects to your own personal Plex Media Server. We do not host, stream, or provide any content. You are responsible for what is on your server and whether you have the legal right to it. Using this app to access pirated content is prohibited and violates these terms.
RexyView is a third-party client application for Apple devices that provides an interface for connecting to and browsing a self-hosted Plex Media Server. RexyView is not developed, owned, or operated by Plex, Inc.
RexyView is not a content provider, streaming service, media distributor, or content delivery network. The App does not host, store, transmit, stream, cache, distribute, or provide access to any media content of any kind. RexyView is purely a user interface — a visual layer that communicates with a Plex Media Server that you own, operate, and are solely responsible for.
All media content that you access, browse, or play through RexyView is served exclusively from your own Plex Media Server, transmitted directly between that server and your Apple device.
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use RexyView. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf. You must also have a valid Plex account and access to a Plex Media Server. Creation and maintenance of that account is governed by Plex, Inc.'s own terms of service, which are entirely separate from these Terms.
You are solely and entirely responsible for all content stored on any media server you connect to using RexyView. By using the App, you represent, warrant, and agree that:
RexyView has no knowledge of, access to, or control over the content in your personal media library. We make no representations about, and accept no responsibility for, the content you store on your media server or access through the App.
Zero tolerance for piracy. RexyView has zero tolerance for use of the App in connection with pirated, unlicensed, or illegally obtained content. Using RexyView to access pirated content is a violation of these Terms and may violate applicable copyright law.
You expressly agree that you will NOT use RexyView to:
RexyView is designed and intended solely for use with lawfully obtained personal media collections — content that you own on physical media (DVD, Blu-ray), have purchased digitally, or otherwise have the explicit legal right to store and access for personal use under the laws of your jurisdiction.
Violation of this section may result in termination of your access to the App and may expose you to legal liability under applicable copyright law. RexyView reserves the right to cooperate fully with any law enforcement investigation or legal process related to your use of the App.
RexyView does not review, screen, monitor, or filter content stored on your Plex Media Server. Content accessed through RexyView may include material that is inappropriate for minors, offensive, inaccurate, or otherwise objectionable. You alone are responsible for your media library and for determining whether content is appropriate for yourself and any other members of your household.
By using RexyView, you acknowledge that you may encounter content that reflects choices made by you when populating your personal media server, and you agree that RexyView bears no responsibility for the nature or appropriateness of that content.
RexyView is free to download and use. The App includes an optional "Tip Jar" feature that allows you to support ongoing development through a voluntary one-time payment.
By making a tip, you acknowledge and agree that:
RexyView is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to Plex, Inc. Plex™ and Plex Media Server™ are trademarks of Plex, Inc. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Your use of Plex Media Server is governed exclusively by Plex, Inc.'s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. RexyView is not responsible for Plex, Inc. or its services, and Plex, Inc. has no obligation to provide support for this App.
These Terms are between you and RexyView only, not with Apple, Inc. ("Apple"). Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
To the extent these Terms provide for terms relating to usage rules, maintenance, product warranties, product claims, intellectual property rights, legal compliance, developer name and address, or third-party beneficiary provisions, you acknowledge that Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula), Apple's terms shall govern with respect to any such conflict.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RexyView is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
We expressly disclaim all warranties including but not limited to: implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
We do not warrant that the App will be compatible with all versions of Plex Media Server, all Apple operating system versions, or all Apple device models. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, any implied warranties are limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RexyView and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the App.
This includes but is not limited to: loss of data, loss of content access, loss of revenue or profits, loss of goodwill, device damage, or any other intangible losses.
In no event shall RexyView's total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Since RexyView is free, this amount is zero.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RexyView and its developer from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or relating to:
This indemnification obligation specifically includes any claims by copyright holders, content owners, or rights holders arising from content in your personal media library that you access using RexyView.
Because RexyView does not host, store, or serve any content, it is not possible for infringing content to be hosted by RexyView. If you believe content is being infringed through use of this App, the appropriate party to contact is the operator of the Plex Media Server from which that content is being served — not RexyView.
If you have a copyright concern related to materials within the App interface itself (for example, icons or metadata displayed by the App), please contact us at rexyviewapp@gmail.com with the subject line "Copyright Notice" and include: (a) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (b) identification of the allegedly infringing material; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement made under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized; and (e) your physical or electronic signature.
RexyView will cooperate fully with any valid legal process or investigation related to copyright infringement by a user of the App.
The App and its use are subject to the export control laws of the United States and any other applicable jurisdictions. You agree to comply with all such laws and regulations. You represent that (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. government embargo or has been designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and (b) you are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
The App uses standard HTTPS encryption for network communications, which is classified as a mass-market product exempt from export license requirements under U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may also stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The Last Updated date at the top of this document reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, please stop using the App and delete it from your device.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. For users outside the United States, nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction. Users in the European Union retain all rights afforded to them under EU consumer protection law.
For users in the United States: any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claim qualifies. You and RexyView waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to rexyviewapp@gmail.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
For users outside the United States: any dispute may be resolved in the courts of your country of residence or in the courts of the developer's jurisdiction, at your option, to the extent required by applicable law.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and RexyView regarding the App and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, or understandings.
